IFDA New England's Take A Seat

The International Furnishings and Design Association’s New England Chapter produces TAKE A SEAT, an international, award-winning, design exhibition that features up-cycled chairs creatively redesigned by area professionals such as architects, builders, craftsmen, and designers of the furnishings and design industry.  The chairs are paraded on a traveling exhibit and then auctioned off at a Gala. Proceeds from this event benefit select charities and the Women’s Institute for Housing & Economic Development, a national award-winning affordable housing development organization. 

Herrick & White volunteer their time and labor each year to transport these one-of-a-kind chairs from one location to the next throughout the 5-week long event. Additionally, for the 2016 event, Gary Rousseau and the Herrick & White team designed and built a baseball-themed chair called, "Sox Rock!" for the auction. IFDA-NE has expressed that Herrick & White is largely responsible for the success of this popular event and the funds raised as a result.
